đź’Ą132M views from one video. Here's how I did it...
One of the quickest ways I know to grow on social media:
Make your content shareable.
I compare it to having your audience do your marketing for you.
Plus, platforms are all about it now. Instagram and TikTok are all using shareability to rank content.
So let’s talk about why people share content.
It's simple: It's when a video hits them harder than anything else they’ve seen that day..
Here’s how that’s worked in my experience:
Make people laugh. If you give them one of the biggest laughs of their day, they'll spread that joy.
Jaw-dropping impressive content that makes people go "WTF!" Could be an insane skateboard trick, mind-bending art, whatever. If it blows their mind, they'll share it.
Ever seen something and thought, "I've never felt so seen"? That's the kind of relatable content that spreads like wildfire. Makes people feel less alone in their weird quirks or daily struggles.
Teach someone something cool in a quick, easy-to-digest way, and they'll want to pass it on. Makes them feel smart, and everyone likes feeling smart.
Let me give you a real example.
One of my videos hit 132 million views and 317,000 shares.
@jeremylynch I tried to scream…
Here’s a quick breakdown of why the video went viral:
(A) Cool wow factor as the hook 🪝(the transition)
(B) Tension, suspense & overwhelming pressure
![]() A | ![]() B |
(C) Followed by terror
(D) And finally, extreme relief
![]() C | ![]() D |
It worked because it made people feel something intense.
I can’t stress this enough - It's all about emotion.
So how can you make shareable content?
First, you’ve got to know your audience. What interests them? What do they believe in? What makes them feel things?
Then, decide if you’re going to make them laugh, blow their mind, make them feel seen or educate them.
Lastly: Post, test and repeat. If it flops, analyse the video and improve the concept. Over and over again until it lands.
Do this, and the shares will come.
Catch you next time,
Jeremy
