How I'd turn 136 views into 136,000...
Steal my 6-step formula to make any Instagram video go viral (even with a small following)
Hey!
This week, we're diving into a motivational video from drchriss_tz. With only 3 posts and 3,081 followers, this creator is just starting out, but there's potential here.
Let's explore how to take this content to the next level.
A quick reminder for anyone new:
This is a weekly series. Every Thursday, I break down a different piece of content sent in by this community
Videos are chosen 100% randomly from our submission pool
Submissions open 1x per month
I’ll either analyse why a video didn't go viral (and how to improve it) or break down why it did well

Let's break this down and see where we can make some improvements:
Text
A lot of the text is just off-screen.
This is a big no no.
Anything that is a subject should always be visible.
Repetitiveness
The video is quite repetitive.
Nothing really changes and it’s just the hand writing so the visuals quickly become predictable.
For optimal viewer retention, you should always aim to make videos unpredictable.
Voice Over
One effective way to do this would be to speak into the camera yourself with captions reinforcing the words.
If you are uncomfortable being on camera or want to go for a more faceless content approach, I would use some of the amazing AI voice-over tools available coupled with stock footage/images to match whatever the messaging is.
Some pages are seeing huge success from using this formula. For AI text-to-speech voiceovers I personally use ElevenLabs.
For stock images & footage, there is an abundance of resources online.
Simply google ‘stock footage’ or ‘stock images’.
You can also just Google search what you would like to find images or footage of.
Music
The music choice is nice.
Very motivational/inspirational.
But speech would amplify the power and effectiveness of the video exponentially, and also make it a lot more engaging and interesting to watch.
Every video should generally be an auditory and visual experience.
Format
I would look to format the video to a vertical video.
The video is a horizontal video posted on Instagram which is a platform dominated by vertical content.
You are generally putting your video at a disadvantage by not using the optimal format for the app you are posting it on.
At the moment 60-70 percent of the screen is just black bars.
This is non optimal.
Caption
I love the caption. It’s excellent.
Loads of great hashtags.
Amazing information and appropriate emojis to help to break it up so it’s not just a wordy big paragraph of text.
Also great use of spacing to break up the different parts of the caption.
Bonus
As a new account with only 3 posts, consistency is key.
Aim to post regularly - at least 3-4 times a week.
Develop a content calendar that covers various aspects of your niche to keep your audience engaged and coming back for more.
To wrap up
Look at your last video.
Identify one thing you can improve based on today's breakdown.
Implement it in your next video.
Track the difference in views and engagement.
That's how you improve. That's how you grow. That's how you go viral.
Now, before you go off to create your next viral hit, can I ask you for a favour? It'll take you 20 seconds, tops.
Think of that mate of yours. You know the one - always posting, grinding hard, but maybe not seeing the results they deserve.

Tell them, "You need to get on this. You're getting a mini-masterclass in content creation - in your pocket (all for free)"
Why am I asking this?
Simple. If you're finding these newsletters valuable (and I hope you are), why not do something nice for a friend? Help them level up their content game, absolutely free.
I want to help as many people as possible with these newsletters so I’ll keep making them for you and I would really appreciate it if you shared with even just one friend.
Until next time,
Jeremy
